Whenever my friends go to the gym they say they feel energized afterward. In my case the opposite happens. After a workout I sometimes feel tired for the rest of the day. Is this normal?

Energy response after exercise varies depending on fitness level, sleep quality, nutrition, and the type of workout performed. For individuals new to exercise or returning after a long break, the body initially perceives physical training as a stressor rather than a stimulant.
If workouts are too intense relative to current fitness levels, the body may use large amounts of glycogen and stress hormones, leading to temporary fatigue rather than increased energy. Over time, as cardiovascular fitness and muscular efficiency improve, exercise usually becomes energizing instead of draining.
Proper hydration, balanced nutrition before workouts, and gradually increasing exercise intensity can help the body adapt more comfortably to physical activity.
