Joint pain without heavy training or injury is often driven by low-grade inflammation and mechanical stress from daily habits, not structural damage. Prolonged sitting, poor posture, weak stabilizing muscles, inadequate hydration, poor sleep, high ultra-processed food intake, vitamin D deficiency, and chronic stress can all sensitize joints and surrounding tissues. Repetitive micro-movements (phone use, typing, long driving) also strain tendons over time. In many cases, the issue is reduced joint mobility combined with poor circulation and mild systemic inflammation rather than cartilage wear. If pain is persistent, symmetrical, or associated with morning stiffness lasting over 30–60 minutes, evaluation for inflammatory conditions is important — otherwise lifestyle patterns are usually the primary driver.
