I stopped junk food and sugary drinks for 3 weeks, but my weight hasn’t changed. I walk daily and eat home food. Why am I not losing weight?
Weight loss depends on more than simply eating healthy foods. Factors that may slow progress include:
- Large portion sizes
- Low physical activity
- Poor sleep
- Stress
- Hidden calories from beverages and snacks
Other signs of progress may include:
- Better energy levels
- Improved fitness
- Smaller waist measurements
- Better-fitting clothes
Consistency is often more important than rapid changes on the scale.
Eating “healthy” does not always ensure a calorie deficit. Portion sizes, hidden calories, low protein intake, lack of strength training, stress, and inadequate sleep all influence fat loss. Sustainable weight reduction requires balanced nutrition, resistance training, and consistent lifestyle habits rather than food quality alone.
