I started doing home workouts with dumbbells about a month ago. I’m trying to lose fat and tone my body, but many fitness influencers say protein powder is necessary for results. I don’t go to the gym and my workouts are only 30–40 minutes. Do I really need supplements?

Not necessarily. Protein powder is simply a convenient way to increase protein intake. Many people can meet their needs through normal foods like eggs, milk, yogurt, fish, chicken, lentils, tofu, and nuts.
Supplements may help if:
- You struggle to eat enough protein
- Your schedule is busy
- You are actively building muscle
For general fitness and fat loss, balanced nutrition, consistency, sleep, and regular exercise matter far more than supplements.
