I usually eat dinner around 8 PM and feel completely full afterward. But around 11 PM, I suddenly become hungry and start looking for snacks. This has been happening for several weeks. My dinner mostly consists of pasta, rice, or bread-based meals. Could my food choices be causing late-night hunger?
Possibly. Meals that are high in refined carbohydrates but low in protein, fiber, and healthy fats may not keep you satisfied for long.
Try:
- Adding protein sources such as eggs, fish, chicken, lentils, or yogurt
- Including vegetables with dinner
- Drinking enough water
- Avoiding highly processed snacks
Balanced meals tend to provide more sustained fullness throughout the evening.
