I\’ve recently decided to improve my fitness after being mostly inactive for years. I\’m excited to start, but I\’m confused about how often I should work out. Some people recommend daily exercise, while others suggest taking multiple rest days. What\’s a realistic schedule for beginners?
For most beginners, exercising 3–5 days per week is a good starting point. This allows the body to adapt while providing adequate recovery.
A balanced beginner plan may include:
- 2–3 days of strength training
- 2–3 days of walking or cardio
- 1–2 recovery days
Consistency matters more than intensity during the first few months.
