Iván Marcano underwent successful surgery this Tuesday in Madrid and will return to Porto on Wednesday to begin the long recovery process.
The 36-year-old centre-back, who had suffered a torn ligament in the game against Estrela, on the 15th, underwent a «surgical intervention for ligamentoplasty of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee.
The operation took place in the Spanish capital under the leadership of Dr. Manolo Leyes Vence and, according to the club, “it was uneventful”.
FC Porto also informs that Marcano will return to Porto this Wednesday to “start the recovery process”.
This is the second time that the Spanish defender has torn ligaments in his knee. The last one, in May 2020, forced a competitive stoppage lasting around seven months.
