Whenever I do planks, lunges, or hold certain exercise positions, my muscles start shaking noticeably. It doesn’t hurt, but it feels strange. I only started exercising a few weeks ago after being inactive for years. Is muscle shaking a sign of weakness or something more serious?
Muscle shaking during exercise is often normal, especially for beginners. It usually occurs when muscles are challenged and working hard to maintain stability.
Common reasons include:
- Muscle fatigue
- Lack of conditioning
- Holding positions for extended periods
- Minor muscle imbalances
As your strength improves, the shaking often decreases. Stop exercising if you experience pain, severe cramping, or dizziness.
