Today, in this article we will tell you about one variety of pomegranate i.e., Solapur pomegranate and its health benefits.

What is Solapur Pomegranate?

It is basically a type of pomegranate found in India at Maharashtra (Solapur). The team of ICAR has researched and modified Solapur pomegranate with more nutrients and taste.

Appearance And Texture.

It is dark red colour, weighing around 40-41gm and size of seed is medium. Solapur pomegranate is also called Solapur Lal or Solapur Dry. The growing season of this variety is from November to March. Pomegranates were grown in Solapur in 10th century and during 14th century Solapur got the status of an independent state of India.

This variety is suitable for all age groups. Fruits are sweet but deep red and it is high in vitamin C and E. It is low in fat, cholesterol and maintains an ideal blood sugar level.

Solapur Pomegranate is a part of a healthy diet. According to the research, pomegranate juice helps to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. It is a rich source of betaine, gallic acid, و و و كايمبفيرول. Now let’s know about its Health Benefits.

  • It has the property of reducing blood sugar. Therefore, people who take diabetes medication should be careful to drink pomegranate juice. Using it with the drug can be raise problem of low blood sugar.
  • Pomegranate also cause allergies. Therefore, people who complain of allergies to certain foods should be careful to intake pomegranates.(26)
