Why Do You Sometimes Feel a Throbbing in Your Ears?

Listen to this article

A heartbeat in the ears can have several causes of sensation, some of which may be gentle and others may indicate a built health problem.

This medical word is known by Pulsatel tinnitus. Which describes the notion of noise or sounds in the ears, without any external source producing them. When it comes to pulsatil tinnitus, people experience rhythmic or vibrant sounds that sync heartbeat.

These sounds can be separated and described as beats, vibrant, humming or heart -like sounds. Pulsatil tinnitus is often more noticeable at night or in a calm environment, as these inner sounds have a low exterior noise to mask.

Why Do You Sometimes Feel a Throbbing in Your Ears?

Here are some possible reasons:

  1. Blood flow: Sometimes the vibrant feeling in the ears can only be the perception of the blood flow passing through the ear. This feeling may be more pronounced at the time of increased heart rate, for example during physical exercise or when you are concerned.
  2. High or low blood pressure: Changes in blood pressure, whether high or low, can affect the feeling of the ears. As blood pressure increases or decreases, it can affect the flow of blood and cause the throbbing feeling.
  3. Stress or anxiety: Stress and anxiety can cause physical sensations in the body, including the perception of turning in different parts, such as ears.
  4. Ear problems: certain ear problems, such as ear infections, obstacles or even temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems, can cause beating sensations.
  5. Other health problems: In some cases, the feeling of the ears may be associated with underlying medical conditions, such as vascular disorders, cardiovascular abnormalities or neurological problems.

If you experience a persistent heartbeat in your ears, especially if it is accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, dizziness, hearing loss or vision change, it is important to consult a doctor for the correct assessment and an accurate diagnosis.
