In an interview on the Full Send Podcast, Rain said she had her age on her official bio fixed at 21 years old since she was actually 23. She emphasized that it was not the question of deceiving the fans or promoting herself in a new way, it was just a personal safety precaution.
When people who were close to Rain told her that being overly transparent could be very dangerous, Rain clarified that she felt the need to defend her peace, since her online audience had started to expand. Bad people, there, there, she said, and that even the minutiae can be reconstructed by bedralons.
She also disclosed that at the beginning of her career she put her age at 18 and her name was Sophie Rain with the sole purpose of creating a rift between her internet self and her offline self. I did not want anybody to know my real age or my real name, she thought. “I was just trying to stay safe.”
One of the Leaks in Personal Information triggered a tidal wave of harassment.
Rain claims that everything went wrong when her actual information was leaked on the internet. The situation was also worsened by the fact that living in Florida, the public records are rather easy to access.
“My real name got leaked. My real age got leaked. They discovered my identity, and they are chasing me now, said Rain.
She said that the bullying has long since outgrown hate speech or internet trolling. Rain says that she has been contacted by her family members and even the neighbors have been sucked into the situation. I only newly purchased this place and I feel like I must sell it and change, she said. “People know where I live. That’s terrifying.”
Threats and Swatting Incidents were all that increased the Fear.
The most traumatic aspect of the Rain story was when she revealed that she has been swatted several times during the recent weeks. This is a dangerous hoax in which people are falsely reported to law enforcement in a process known as swatting that has caused serious injuries and death in other high-profile incidences.
I have been swatted this past week, said Rain. It has happened to me four times that the police officers appeared at my house due to one individual.
She also talked about getting threatening messages, such as someone at her front door, as well as pictures with her precise home address. It puts the sh-t out of me, she said. You do not know whether a person really is there or he is only trying to play around with you.

The sudden fame thrust her into the limelight that she was not quite ready to handle, because it was not the boundary between the role and the personal life.
Defending Her Decisions and Fighting the Critic.
Nonetheless, Rain replied to the backlash by explaining that she is not sorry about her professional choices. I am quite glad I did, she said. “I’m proud of where I am. No shame with me about what I’ve done.
She also responded to her critics who claimed that she had lied deliberately about her age to gain attention. Rain resisted such a notion even though the reasons given by some individuals might be true.
I can certainly see why they should think so, she said. But nobody ever knows the truth of it–the truth behind it.
A Greater Discussion of Creator Security.
The affair of Rain brings up a rising problem of the online creators, mostly women, who become known quickly and rise to popularity.
